About me

I treat your business like it’s my own

My mission is to help speakers and experts step onto the stage with a clear head, knowing their inbox, calendar, invoices and leads are all taken care of back home. I know letting someone into the heart of your business can feel daunting. That's what makes it such a relief when you realise everything is in good hands. So I work the way I'd want someone to work for me: with care, a personal touch and a little Spanish flair. You only notice afterwards how much is already sorted.

How I got here

Entrepreneurship was in my blood. I just didn’t know it yet.

Twenty years behind the scenes

I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, where kitchen-table chats were all about clients, quotes and busy weeks. Still, I never thought about becoming one myself. I felt right at home behind the scenes, and that’s where I stayed for over twenty years. I worked as a secretary, project manager, trainer and host, and wherever I went, I was the one making sure the schedules, meeting rooms and coffee were all sorted. Then, in 2022, a freelance offer came along that was simply too good to turn down.

The birth of RaQuality Services

In mei 2022, I started working for myself, and one of my first gigs was a four-month interim role as office manager at Maandag®, keeping the office running for over 250 colleagues. I absolutely loved it, and that’s when I knew: this is what I want to do. What started as a great opportunity became something much bigger as I discovered how much I love running my own business. At the same time, I felt something I’d never quite experienced as an assistant: what it’s like to have everything you’ve built in your own hands. Suddenly, I understood why clients sometimes hesitate before giving me access to their inbox or accounts. Letting someone into the heart of your business makes you feel vulnerable. I also know that little voice telling you things could always be better, because my own imposter syndrome regularly pulls up a chair. I now know every business owner knows that voice, from someone just starting out to a keynote speaker with a packed schedule. And you can learn to live with it, even if it never quite goes away.

That’s how RaQuality Services became what it is today. Now I work behind the scenes for speakers, experts, performers and creators whose work puts them in the spotlight—people whose minds are often three steps ahead of their calendars. I bring structure to your schedule, keep track of your communications and make your back office something you no longer have to think about. I automate anything that repeats each week, from reminders and follow-up emails to invoicing, smart folders in Drive and custom dashboards. That leaves me time for the things that change from week to week, like the organiser emailing for the second time who deserves a warmer reply, or the lead who was excited and suddenly goes quiet. Sometimes it’s a quick project, but ideally, I become a steady part of the structure behind your business through a longer-term partnership: someone who has your back, thinks things through with you and stays a step ahead, so you don’t get caught up in the daily noise.

There’s also a big creative side to what I do. I love brainstorming events and projects and turning them into something people remember. That’s how PA for a Day came about: I join you at your keynote, book launch or premiere and handle all the details, making it a day you and your guests will be talking about for ages. I’ll leave the spotlight to you and make sure everything runs smoothly.

How I work

Three things you can always count on from me

As if it were my own business

I come from a family of entrepreneurs and run my own business too, so I look out for your clients, your money and your reputation as if they were my own.

Precision

I spot the details others miss, from that one invoice number to the lead who’s been waiting two weeks for a reply, and I get things sorted.

Warm relationships

I keep you connected with your clients, from that first lead to the former client who’s due a hello, and keep communication easy, especially when things get busy. All with the warmth of my Spanish side: personal, discreet and with a smile.

In practice

Smoother without you noticing

"Raquel is an honest, loyal, sociable, committed and fun Office Manager who quickly felt at home with us. She found just the right balance between coordinating, monitoring, getting things done, giving people attention and, when needed, giving our office 'residents' a firm talking-to. She made so many things run more smoothly, often without anyone even noticing."
Rick Teunissen, Managing Partner Tacstone Technology
"She's a strong woman who doesn't scare easily or get thrown off balance. She goes all out when she needs to. (...) If she wants something, it happens. With decisive charm."
Marianne Heemskerk, owner of Spraakmakend Marianne

Outside work

Fiery, sweet and never without a panda

I’ve been married for over sixteen years and share my home with Emma, a black-and-white Pomeranian who children often mistake for a panda. I think she secretly takes it as a compliment. My dad is from Spain and my mum is from the Netherlands, so I speak both languages and I’m fiery and sweet at the same time, just as you’d expect from that mix. Every now and then, I get my languages muddled and say I don’t want a little bum when I really mean the end of the baguette.

One thing you should know before we grab a coffee: I don’t share food. I’m basically Joey from Friends. You bring the coffee, but hands off my plate. 😉
