Cookie policy

Just a few cookies, and only with your permission

This website uses just a few cookies, and only if you say yes. Below, you can read which ones they are, what they do and how to change your mind.

What are cookies, anyway?

Cookies are small files that a website can store on your computer or phone. Some are handy, like a cookie that remembers what's in your shopping basket. Others mainly track your browsing so you end up seeing ads everywhere for that one pair of shoes you looked at once. In Spanish, they're called galletas, and I only hand them out to people who ask for them.

Besides cookies, there's also local storage. That's a space in your browser where a website can save data on your own device. Legally, it's treated just like a cookie, so I'll be upfront about that too.

Which cookies does this website use?

This website uses Google Analytics to see how visitors use the site, like how many people stop by, which pages they read and how they find their way here. That helps me see what works and what could be better. I don't use this information to tailor ads to you, and it doesn't let me see who you are.

Google Analytics sets the following cookies, but only after you click "Sí, please" in the cookie notice.

Cookie _ga: tells visitors apart so Google Analytics can count them. Stored for: 2 years.

Cookie _ga_[ID]: remembers details about your visit, like which pages you viewed in one session. Kept for: 2 years.

If you click "No, thanks", these cookies won't be set, and you can still use the whole website. The site also remembers your choice, so you won't see the cookie notice every time you visit. Your choice is saved in your browser and is needed to make the site work the way you want.

I've set up Google Analytics so Google can't use the data for its own purposes or link it to other Google services or ads. I have a data processing agreement with Google. Google may process data in the United States and participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for this purpose. Read more about Google Analytics in my privacy policy and Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Change your choice

Said yes before but would rather skip the galletas now, or the other way round? Click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to change your choice. You can also delete cookies already set through your browser settings.

Paloma and local storage in your browser

Paloma, my digital carrier pigeon, doesn't set any cookies. If you start a chat with her, your browser saves your first name, email address and previous conversations in local storage on your own device. That way, you don't have to introduce yourself every time, and you can revisit a conversation later. This data stays on your device and isn't collected or stored by this website.

This storage is only needed to run the chat you start yourself and isn't used for anything else. If you don't chat with Paloma, nothing is saved. Want to clear it? Delete your conversations in the chat itself or clear this site's data in your browser settings.

To find out what happens to the messages you send Paloma, read my privacy policy.

Fonts from Google Fonts

This website loads its fonts through Google Fonts. This means Google receives your IP address, as your browser fetches the fonts directly from their servers. No cookies are set in the process. Want to know what Google does with that data? Read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Could this ever change?

That could happen, for example if I add a newsletter or another tool later. If that means new cookies, I'll update this page and ask for your permission again if needed. You'll always find the last update date at the bottom.

Questions?

Got a question about this cookie policy or how I handle your data? Feel free to drop me a message. I usually reply within two working days.
